Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the PromptRanks platform ("Platform"), accessible at https://app.prompt-skill.com and the associated API at https://api.prompt-skill.com. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and SCOPELABS PTE. LTD., a company registered in Singapore with address at 2 Shenton Way, #15-04, SGX Centre I, Singapore 068804, operating the Platform under the name PromptRanks ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

• "Assessment" means an AI prompt engineering evaluation delivered through the Platform, including Quick Assessments and Full Assessments.
• "Badge" means a digital credential issued upon successful completion of an Assessment, certifying your score and proficiency level.
• "PECMA Framework" means the five-pillar assessment methodology used by PromptRanks: Prompt Design, Evaluation, Context Management, Meta-Cognition, and Agentic Prompting.
• "Content" means all questions, tasks, documentation, and assessment materials provided on the Platform.
• "Services" means all features, tools, and functionalities provided by PromptRanks through the Platform.
• "Referral" means the process by which an existing User invites new Users to the Platform via a unique referral link.
• "Trial" means a discounted introductory subscription period offered to new or referred Users.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years of age (or the minimum age of consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Platform. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must obtain parental or legal guardian consent before using the Platform.

2.2 Account Accuracy

When creating an account, you must provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your account information up to date.

2.3 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and authentication tokens. You must not share your login credentials with any third party. You agree to notify us immediately at admin@promptranks.org of any unauthorized access to or use of your account.

3. Account Registration and Authentication

3.1 Registration Methods

You may register for an account using the following passwordless methods:

• Google SSO: By authenticating via Google, you agree to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
• GitHub SSO: By authenticating via GitHub, you agree to GitHub's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
• Email + Magic Link: Passwordless email-based login. Enter your email address, receive a Magic Link, and click it to complete registration or login. The same email used through different methods automatically links to the same account.

Note: The Platform does not collect or store passwords. All authentication methods are passwordless.

3.2 Anonymous Access and Guest Data

You may take Assessments without registering an account. Guest Assessment results are stored in your browser's local storage with a 7-day expiry. To claim a Badge and persist your results, you must register an account. Key rules for guest data:

• Guest assessment records older than 7 days are automatically filtered and not displayed.
• Clearing your browser cache or using a different browser will result in data loss.
• When you register or log in, assessment records from the past 7 days are automatically bound to your account.
• If your account's free Full Assessment quota has already been used, bound Full Assessment records will be hidden until you subscribe.
• In case of conflicts (e.g., same industry/role assessments), the highest score is retained.

3.3 One Account Per Person

Each User may maintain only one account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate duplicate accounts.

4. Subscription Plans, Pricing, and Trials

4.1 Available Plans

4.2 Trial Offers

New Users may be eligible for a discounted trial subscription:

• Trial eligibility is checked before creating a Stripe Checkout session by verifying the trial_used_at field and referral status.
• After the trial period ends, Stripe automatically charges the full subscription price.
• If payment fails at trial end, standard Stripe retry logic applies.
• Canceling and re-subscribing does not grant a new trial.

4.3 Pricing Changes

We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time. Price changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Price increases will not apply to current subscription periods that have already been paid.

4.4 Free Tier Limitations

Free tier Users are limited to one (1) Full Assessment (lifetime quota). Quick Assessments are unlimited. Usage limits are tracked and enforced server-side. Full Assessment results for free users are displayed in a locked state, requiring subscription to view complete scores.

4.5 Subscription Renewal and Cancellation

• Monthly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
• Annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each 12-month period.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal or by contacting us at admin@promptranks.org.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to Premium features until the end of the paid period.
• No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.

4.6 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card information. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

4.7 Payment Receipts

Upon successful payment (first subscription, trial start, or recurring renewal), you will receive an email receipt containing:

• Receipt number (Stripe invoice ID)
• Payment date and amount
• Plan description and billing period
• Trial end date (if applicable)
• Invoice PDF download link

5. Assessments

5.1 Assessment Types

• Quick Assessment: A shortened evaluation producing a basic proficiency level (L1-L5). Available to all users without restriction.
• Full Assessment: A comprehensive evaluation across all five PECMA pillars, producing detailed scores, a Badge, and Leaderboard placement. Free users are limited to 1 lifetime attempt; subscribers have unlimited access.

5.2 Assessment Results Access Control

Assessment results access varies by user type:

Key rules:

• The free Full Assessment quota is a lifetime limit — upgrading to premium and later downgrading does not grant a new free Full Assessment if the quota was already used.
• When a subscription expires or is canceled, Full Assessment results become locked, teaching content access is revoked, and the user reverts to free tier rules.
• Industry and Role selection is available to all user types without restriction.

5.3 Anti-Cheat Policy

To maintain the integrity of Assessments:

• Tab Monitoring: The Platform monitors browser tab visibility during Assessments. Switching tabs or navigating away from the Assessment page is recorded as a violation.
• Violation Threshold: Three (3) violations during a single Assessment session will void that session and its results.
• Timer Enforcement: All Assessments are timed. Late submissions are rejected.
• Prohibition of Cheating: You must not use external tools, AI assistants (other than those provided by the Platform), copy answers from other sources, or collaborate with others during an Assessment.

5.4 Assessment Results

• Assessment results are generated by AI models using the PECMA framework.
• Results include an overall score, individual pillar scores, and a proficiency level (L1 through L5).
• Results are final and not subject to appeal, though you may retake Assessments within your plan's usage limits.

5.5 Teaching Content

The Platform provides personalized teaching videos and texts recommended based on your assessment scores:

• Teaching videos: Recommended based on score ranges, accessible to subscribers for full viewing.
• Teaching texts: Accessible via the "Master the Art of Prompting" card on Profile/Dashboard pages. Subscribers can view full text content; free users are redirected to the subscription page.

6. Badges

6.1 Badge Issuance

Upon successful completion of an Assessment, you may receive a digital Badge certifying your score and level.

6.2 Badge Display Rules

Badge display on your Profile page varies by user type and assessment history:

• Free users always see Quick Assessment scores on their Badge, even if Full Assessment results exist (locked).
• Subscribers (including trial and referral-reward users) see Full Assessment scores when available.
• Badge upgrades/downgrades automatically reflect subscription status changes.
• Badge displays the assessment type label ("Quick" or "Full").

6.3 Badge Verification

Badges are publicly verifiable through a unique verification URL. By earning a Badge, you consent to the public display of your Badge level, score, and the verification status.

6.4 Badge Social Sharing

You may share your Badge on social media platforms (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook). Shared content includes:

• Badge image (with score, assessment type, industry/role)
• Your referral link (https://prompt-skill.com/ref/{code})
• Dynamic description text based on assessment type

Important: When other users register through your shared Badge referral link, they are tracked as your referrals. This is a key channel for free users to earn referral rewards (see Section 9).

6.5 Badge Display

You may display Badges on personal websites, resumes, social media profiles, and professional networks. You must not alter, modify, or misrepresent Badge content.

6.6 Badge Revocation

We reserve the right to revoke Badges if we determine they were obtained through cheating, fraud, or violation of these Terms.

7. Leaderboard

7.1 Participation

By completing Full Assessments, your results may appear on the public Leaderboard. The Leaderboard:

• Displays the Top 100 users based on best Full Assessment scores.
• Supports filtering by time range (All Time, This Week, This Month, This Quarter) and industry.
• Shows your personal ranking if you are logged in (even if outside Top 100).
• Guests can browse the Top 100 but cannot see personal rankings.

Note: Only Full Assessment results appear on the Leaderboard. Quick Assessment results are not ranked.

7.2 Ranking Rules

• If you complete multiple Full Assessments, your highest historical score is used for ranking.
• Tied scores are ordered by the date the score was first achieved (earlier is higher).
• Rankings update in near real-time (or with a short cache period).

7.3 User Detail Interaction

• Logged-in users: Clicking a user entry shows a Badge popup with their Full Assessment details (score, industry, role, Badge image).
• Guests: Clicking a user entry prompts registration/login to view details.

7.4 Opt-Out

You may opt out of Leaderboard participation through your account settings. Opting out will remove your entry from public Leaderboard views.

8. User Content

8.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the prompts and responses you submit during Assessments ("User Content").

8.2 License Grant

By submitting User Content, you grant PromptRanks a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and store your User Content for the purpose of:

• Evaluating and scoring your Assessments
• Improving our assessment methodology and AI models
• Generating anonymized, aggregated analytics

8.3 Third-Party AI Processing

Your User Content, including prompts and responses, is processed by third-party AI/LLM providers (such as OpenAI and Anthropic) for the purpose of Assessment execution and scoring. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and consent to this processing.

8.4 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You must not submit content that:

• Violates any applicable law or regulation
• Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Is defamatory, obscene, threatening, or harassing

9. Referral System

9.1 Referral Links

Upon registration, each User is automatically assigned a unique referral code and URL (https://prompt-skill.com/ref/{code}). Referral codes are permanent and do not expire.

9.2 Referral Tracking

When a new user visits via a referral link:

• The referral code is stored in a cookie (30-day expiry).
• The new user sees a personalized welcome with the referrer's name.
• Upon registration, the referral relationship is automatically attributed — no manual code entry required.
• Invalid referral links silently redirect to the standard landing page.

9.3 Referral Rewards

Referrers earn rewards based on successful referrals:

Reward application rules:

• Referrer on $1 trial: Bonus months extend the trial period (+30 days each). Normal billing starts after the extended trial.
• Referrer on paid subscription: Bonus months extend the subscription end date (+30 days each).
• Referrer is a free user (not subscribed): Rewards take effect immediately — the user receives a free Premium trial period (no $1 payment required). Each additional 20 referrals extends the trial by another 30 days. When the trial ends, the user reverts to free tier.
• "Successful referral" = referred user completes account creation (email verification or OAuth completion).
• Rewards trigger at exact multiples (20th, 40th, 60th referral, etc.).

9.4 Referral Restrictions

• Each referred user is permanently bound to one referrer.
• Self-referrals are not permitted and will be silently rejected.
• We monitor for referral fraud (e.g., same IP multiple registrations) and reserve the right to void fraudulent referrals.

9.5 Referral Dashboard

Authenticated users can access the Referral Dashboard to:

• View and copy their referral link
• Share to social platforms with a generated poster image
• View referral statistics (total referrals, bonus months earned, progress to next reward)
• See recent referred users (masked emails)

10. Platform Content

10.1 Assessment Content

Assessment questions, tasks, and related materials ("Content") are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC-BY-SA 4.0). You may share and adapt this Content under the terms of that license.

10.2 Platform Software

The Platform's source code is licensed under the MIT License for the open-source version. The SaaS deployment at app.prompt-skill.com is proprietary. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

10.3 Trademarks

"PromptRanks," the PromptRanks logo, and related marks are trademarks of PromptRanks. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent, except as necessary to display earned Badges.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

1. Circumvent security measures, including anti-cheat monitoring, authentication mechanisms, or usage limits.
2. Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Platform.
3. Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access the Platform without explicit authorization.
4. Interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform or disrupt other Users' access.
5. Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation.
6. Resell or redistribute your account access or Assessment results to third parties without authorization.
7. Attempt to manipulate Assessment scores, Leaderboard rankings, or Badge verification.
8. Access another User's account without authorization.
9. Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
10. Abuse the referral system, including self-referrals, creating multiple accounts for referral bonuses, or using automated means to generate referrals.
11. Circumvent assessment usage limits by clearing browser storage, using multiple browsers, or other means.

12. Intellectual Property

12.1 Our Rights

The Platform, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by SCOPELABS PTE. LTD. and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

12.2 Feedback

If you provide suggestions, feedback, or ideas regarding the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use and implement such feedback without attribution or compensation.

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Platform at any time. To delete your account, contact us at admin@promptranks.org. Account deletion involves:

• Soft deletion (account deactivated) for 30 days, followed by permanent deletion.
• Active subscribers must cancel their subscription before account deletion.
• Leaderboard entries are anonymized (scores retained, user association removed).

13.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform, without prior notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity
• Prolonged inactivity (12 months or more)

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to access the Platform ceases immediately.
• All authentication tokens (Access and Refresh) are immediately invalidated.
• We may delete your account data in accordance with our data retention practices.
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain in effect, including Sections 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 16.

14. Disclaimers

14.1 "As Is" Basis

The Platform is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

14.2 Assessment Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that Assessment results perfectly reflect your abilities. AI-based evaluations are inherently probabilistic and may produce varying results.

14.3 Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Platform. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without notice.

14.4 Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services (including but not limited to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, GitHub, and Stripe). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

1. SCOPELABS PTE. LTD. and its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.
2. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to PromptRanks in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100), whichever is greater.
3. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SCOPELABS PTE. LTD. and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, actions, demands, liabilities, and settlements including legal fees arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your use of the Platform
• Your User Content
• Your violation of any rights of another party

17. Dispute Resolution

17.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

17.2 Informal Resolution

Before filing a formal dispute, you agree to contact us at admin@promptranks.org to attempt to resolve the matter informally.

17.3 Arbitration

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Platform that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

18. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify Users of material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms on the Platform
• Sending email notification for material changes

Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

19. General Provisions

19.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PromptRanks regarding the Platform.

19.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

19.3 Waiver

The failure of SCOPELABS PTE. LTD. to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

19.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder, in whole or in part, without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

19.5 Force Majeure

SCOPELABS PTE. LTD. shall not be liable for any failure to perform obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, shortages of labor or materials, or Internet service provider failures.
